Miami Valley Fly Fishers Inc., established in 1975, is a non-profit organization dedicated to the improvement and preservation of fly fishing in Ohio. Our goal is cleaner water and brighter streams.

Purpose of the Club

The purpose of Miami Valley Fly Fishers, Inc. is to promote the interest in angling with fly rods and to assist in the protection and improvement of natural resources which have a direct relationship to fly fishing.  This is accomplished by arranging meetings, conferences and competitions, plus through related recreational and social activities for the education and enjoyment of its members.

Membership Information

The club currently has about 240 members, all dedicated to enjoying and improving fly fishing.  Many of our members are Charter Members from the club's inception in 1975.  MVFF is noted for its high level of participation by club members.  Club members and volunteers have made MVFF an outstanding organization.

Monthly Meetings

Members meet regularly on the second Monday of every month. Meetings start with a social hour at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. and the evening's program.

October through April meetings are held indoors at the Kohler Banquet Hall, 4572 Presidential Way, Kettering.  Reservations ARE required for the indoor meetings if you plan on dining.  These meetings usually include a guest speaker.

May through September meetings are held outside at the casting pond in Deeds Park, Dayton, Ohio.  Dinner reservations ARE NOT required for the summer meetings.  These meetings include a cookout and casting competition.

We always welcome new members.  You don't have to know anything about fly fishing to join.  All that you need is an interest and a desire to learn.  Many friendships and fishing partnerships have been developed between members.  New and long-time members alike readily share their experiences and expertise for the betterment of the club.
